Trent-severn waterway announces partial closure due to high water levels and flows

Over the past 15 days, Trent-Severn’s watersheds have received above normal levels of precipitation. Parks Canada will begin a partial closure of navigation starting Friday, June 17, 2022 until further notice. Residents along Eels Creek should be prepared for potential flooding. Notice of Construction County of Peterborough Microsurfacing of County Road 504

Please be advised that the County of Peterborough is proceeding with Microsurfacing on County Road 504, from Renwick Road to 450 metres west of County Road 46, in the Township of North Kawartha.
The County’s contractor, Miller Paving, will start work the week of June 20th, and is expected to complete the work by June 24th. Please note that unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Hydro Restoration:
The Township of North Kawartha’s Emergency Control Group met again May 30th, and continues to meet, coordinate, and deal with, the resulting storm damage and continuing power outages in the impacted areas. This Group has been meeting regularly and communicating with representatives from Hydro, Emergency Management Ontario, various Ministries and local agencies.
