Service Disruption; Curbside Garbage and Recycling cancellation

Due to weather conditions, curbside Garbage and Recycling collection has been cancelled for all North Kawartha routes.
For those impacted by the curbside Garbage and Recycling cancellation, double collection will occur on Thursday, February 02, 2023.

Please note that due to renovations in progress at the Glen Alda Community Centre (GACC), the outdoor water tap will be temporarily out of service. In the interim, water may be obtained at the North Kawartha Community Centre (KNCC), accessible through the outdoor water tap.
The NKCC is located at 340 McFadden Road, Apsley, ON, K0L 1A0.

Monday, January 09, 2023
Due to mechanical issues with Waste Connection Canada's Garbage trucks, and collection equipment today, Monday, January 09, 2023, curbside collection for County Road 504, and Highway 28 south of Apsley, has been impacted.
Curbside collection for those impacted upon County Road 504, and Highway 28, south of Apsley, will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority is issuing the following Flood Outlook Statement effective immediately, 5 January 2023 and will be updated as required.
FLOOD OUTLOOK STATEMENTWater levels and flows continue to rise due to recent significant rainfall amounts and snow melt in the past 24 hours and have the potential for flooding risks. Declaration of a Significant Event Lifted, December 26, 2022, 4:30 p.m.
The Township of North Kawartha has lifted the declaration of a Significant Weather Event, following that the extended Winter storm has subsided.
The declaration is lifted as per Ontario Regulation 239/02, the Minimum Maintenance Standards.
The minimum Maintenance Standards timelines will now be in effect.
The Township of North Kawartha Road Department will continue to monitor the weather forecast.
