Public Notice 
Roadside Brushing   

The Township of North Kawartha's Roads Department will be conducting roadside brushing over the next weeks. Starting Tuesday, February 21, 2023, the Township Excavator, and the brushing head equipment will be upon Windsor Road. 

Roads being brushed will be closed, local traffic only. 

Roadside brushing will take place only when weather permits, as winter operations is of top priority.

Storm Update

In case of an emergency please call 911.

Staff are working diligently to address storm concerns.

Hydro outages continue.  Stay away from downed lines.  Hydro One outage report line is 1-800-434-1235.

The Roads Department staff is unable to deal with trees that have a downed power line close to them, we need to wait for Hydro One.

Most roads are passable.  However, Lasswade Road is closed.

Hillcrest FR10 and Cheboutequion are local traffic only.

Reduced Load Restrictions Lifted April 28, 2022

Due to favourable weather this Spring, Peterborough County and the Township of North Kawartha Reduced Load restrictions are being lifted on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

 

Update to Road Restrictions and Closures

As an update, as of April 22, 2019, Rose Island Road is closed due to a washout. Several attempts have been made to resolve the washout. Repairs will be completed, as soon as possible, after the water recedes. Please obey the signs.

Jeff Road is now open to through traffic. Mill Lake Road remains closed to through traffic. Access to local traffic only. Water may be over the roads in low lying areas, currently Anstruther and Haultain Roads. Long Lake Road is reduced to a single lane. Please follow...

  • Tallan Lake Road M1 portion
  • Hogan Lake Road
  • Mindle Road
  • Bush Road
