Municipal Office Closure
The Municipal office will be closed for the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 7, 2023. The office will re-open at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Garbage & Recycling
Curbside Garbage and Recycling collection will operate as normal on Monday, August 7, 2023.
The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will be open for the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 7, 2023, with Sunday operating hours from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m.

Total Firework and Fire Ban has been lifted.
As of 4:00 p.m. on July 11, 2023 the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has lifted their Restricted Fire Zone for the entire Province of Ontario. Therefore, the Total Firework and Fire Ban current in effect within the Township of North Kawartha has been lifted.
All open air burning is permitted/allowed with a valid burn permit. Day burning is not permitted.
North Kawartha Burn Permits are once again available in-person or online.

New Peterborough County Official Plan
he County of Peterborough has prepared a new Official Plan to set the vision and direction for growth and development to the year 2051.
Adoption of Official PlanOn June 29, 2022, Peterborough County Council adopted the Official Plan through By-law Number 2022-47. The new Official Plan requires final approval from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing prior to coming into effect. The Council meeting can be viewed in full on the County's YouTube channel
