Parks & Recreation

To ensure public safety, and be in compliance with Peterborough Public Health recommendations and Provincial Government orders that came into effect at 12:01 am on Saturday, April 03, 2021 (amended April 08 and April 17), the Township must close the North KawarthaWilson Park, and Glen Alda Community Centres, which means programs and/or services at the Community Centres will be suspended for a minimum of six weeks. This includes the Fitness Centre, the NKCC ice surface, and all other programming.

Outdoor recreation amenities must be closed, which includes the beaches at Chandos and Quarry Bay, and the tennis & pickleball courts and sports field at Wilson Park. Playgrounds and boat launches remain open, but any person using these spaces must physically distance from any other person who is not from the same household.

Garbage and Recycling

As Garbage and Recycling Collection is deemed an essential service, the Anstruther and Haultain Transfer Stations are not affected by the new regulations, and will maintain regular hours.

When exiting your vehicle at our Transfer Stations you are requested to wear a face covering and maintain physical distancing of 2 metres (six feet), to help protect the health of our Transfer Station attendants, as well as others.

Curbside Collection will continue as per the normal schedule. To support physical distancing, residents are encouraged to use Curbside Collection.
