Attention North Kawartha Residents

The County of Peterborough is currently completing a Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) to update the County’s Official Plan.

Why is this important:

The County Official Plan will also act as the Official Plan for the Township of North Kawartha. The Official Plan will set out the vision for growth by establishing land use designations and policies for development in those designations. The Official Plan, in its simplest form, sets out where and how growth and development may occur.

As part of the MCR process, the Township of North Kawartha will be reviewing the land use designations, settlement area boundaries, and the greater Official Plan policies. General comments will be provided to County Staff to ensure that the Township’s interests are considered and upheld.

How can you be involved?

Residents are also strongly encouraged to review the Official Plan and provide any comments and questions to the County Planning Department.
