Delegations and Deputations

North Kawartha Council welcomes and encourages presentations and deputations to Council.

Persons or groups wishing to speak to Council must provide a written request no later than 4:30 p.m. five business days prior to the Council meeting. Your request must clearly identify the reason (s) you wish to speak to Council and include the name (s) of those who will be speaking. You may use this Request Form for convenience.

Provide your written request to the Deputy Clerk by email, fax (705) 656-4446 or in-person to the Township Office, 280 Burleigh Street, Apsley. 

Staff will contact you to arrange a meeting date and time. 

Agendas are posted on the Township website prior to the meeting. Persons wishing to speak to Council about an item listed on the Agenda may notify the Deputy Clerk no later than 1:00 p.m. on the day before the meeting. Persons not scheduled on the Agenda will need the agreement of Council to speak.

Persons are limited to a maximum of ten (10) minutes speaking time. If there is more than one person, all persons combined will be limited to two (2) speakers and a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes speaking time.

Please be informed that your written request to Council along with any documents or presentation material you provide may be posted on the Township website and displayed in the Council Chambers during the meeting. Meetings are audio / video recorded and posted on the Township Youtube Channel for public viewing.
