Construction and Demolition Waste

The Anstruther Transfer Station accepts residential construction and demolition (C & D) material from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving. A fee of $30 per cubic yard is charged. (HST is included). An extra fee is applied for heaped and/or oversized loads.

Commercial, construction and demolition material must be transported to the Bensfort Road, Waste Management Facility, which serves the 8 municipalities within Peterborough County.

Acceptable Material:

  • Basic construction, demolition and renovation debris.
  • All wood products.
  • Plaster and drywall.
  • Bricks, concrete, concrete with rebar.
  • Household fixtures (i.e. toilets, sinks, tubs, cupboards).
  • Scrap metal.

Non-acceptable Material:

  • Wet waste.
  • Household garbage.
  • Household items.
  • Styrofoam of any kind.
  • Carpet.
  • Vinyl siding.
  • Any type of plastic pipe. Please note: plastic pipe is strictly garbage, and if going in garbage, it must be cut into 2 foot lengths (representative of garbage bag size).
