COVID-19

The Township of North Kawartha is taking actions to help protect the health of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit our COVID-19 page to stay informed of closures/changes to Township servicesamenities, and programs

The Township continues to suspend all programs and/or services at the North KawarthaWilson Park, and Glen Alda Community Centres until further notice, in order to comply with Provincial Government orders. 

North Kawartha Outdoor Sports and Recreational Amenities are open (with restrictions). Individuals are not permitted to play organized team sports, even on fields intended for this purpose, unless they are members of the same household or social circle. Chandos and Quarry Bay beaches are open with portable toilets, the change rooms are closed.

If any amenities are busy, please come back another time, do not overcrowd. Individuals who use the opened amenities are required to physically distance (stay 2 metres or 6 feet apart), unless they are members of the same household or social circle. In unsupervised areas, User Assumes All Risks and Liability.

The Fitness Centre was closed as of 9 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020. Upon re-opening, Fitness memberships will be extended in accordance with the number of days remaining on the membership at the time of closure. This may require updating your membership form, as the form (and Par-Q) is valid for one year.

Under normal circumstances, Group fitness classes conducted at The North Kawartha Fitness Centre may include Core and the wildly popular Spin Bike classes.

Conducting these classes are fully certified instructors, and these classes are both fun and produce results.

It is not necessary to purchase a Fitness Centre Membership to participate in these classes, however, the requisite registration forms must be filled out and are valid for 12 months. A participant who has purchased an Annual Fitness Centre Membership receives a 10% discount off any class fee.

Payment is by cash, cheque, or debit. Cheques made payable to: Township of North Kawartha

If the minimum numbers of participants are not registered, the class will not run.

To ensure the running of these classes, please register in advance.

Ballet Barre

Ballet Barre is a fun fusion of ballet, pilates and yoga, that uses great music and range of motion exercises to strengthen and tone.

Please wear layers, as this is a sweaty class, and bring water! Please be prepared to go barefoot for the class, and no yoga mat is required. No experience required.

These classes are offered at the Wilson Park Community Centre located at 66 Northey's Bay Road, Woodview, ON K0L 3E0.

Fees

One class per week for six weeks - $60.00 for the session, or $15 per class.

Drop-ins are welcome, but please note, this is a class for adults.

Students need water, and loose layered clothing.

Core/Resistance Training

Building from the Core out, this class will strengthen and tone the entire body, targeting all major muscle groups. If you're looking for a fun and challenging workout, this is your class!

Spin

Is it time to ramp up your cardio? If so, join our 45 minute session. It will take you through a series of hills, time-trials, and intervals, that will burn calories and kick start your metabolism!
