It's here! North Kawartha's new brand!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new brand for North Kawartha!  We are a small, rural community and take great pride in our natural heritage, our people, and our way of life.  Our new brand is a true reflection of who we are and what we stand for – a community that is strong, resilient, and welcoming to all.  Our new logo features the iconic imagery of our region – a proud deer, reflecting over water while the sun riser overhead.  The colors we have chosen – greens, blues, and orange – are a reflection of our landscape, and represent the four distinct seasons in North Kawartha.

We also have a new tagline: Connecting community, nature and spirit.  This tagline captures the character of what makes our Township so special, and we hope it resonates with you too.

Starting March 24th, you will notice that certain communication channels including our website and social media accounts will take on the new brand.  Over the coming weeks, we will continue to roll out the new brand across additional touch points throughout the Township.

Who paid for the rebrand?

The Municipality is thankful to our funding partners at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario who provided funding for this project through the Tourism Relief Fund.

Why did the municipality rebrand?

The need to adopt a new brand was identified in the Townships Strategic Economic Development Plan, approved by Council.  Over the years, the Township has unofficially used several different ad hoc logos.  This new brand will replace the existing ad hoc logos in market with a new unified brand identity.

What is changing?

Starting today, in the first phase of the rollout, you’ll notice that certain communication channels including our website and social media accounts will take on the new brand.  Over the coming weeks, we’ll continue to roll out the new brand across additional touch points throughout the Township.

The second phase of the rollout will consist of larger capital items such as signage.  The Township will continue to pursue grant funding in support of these larger capital items.

The Township is taking a phased approach to rolling out the new brand.  This will allow the Township to spread the cost of implementing the brand over several years, and reduce budget impacts in any one year.

What are some of the benefits of rebrand?

The new brand will improve our corporate communication, reputation, and engagement with stakeholders.  Additional benefits of a strong brand identity can include attraction of new businesses, residents, and tourists to the Municipality.  The new brand will better allow the Municipality to convey its value proposition to stakeholders and enhance our competitive position in the market.

What does this mean for me?

You’ll notice the new brand will be used in official communications channels between the Township and our stakeholders.  Examples of this will include tax billings, application forms, e-notices, website, and social media accounts.
