Leaf and Yard Waste includes grass, twigs, leaves, brush, cuttings, and limbs (not larger than 6 inches in diameter).

There is a fee of $5 per garbage bag measuring 89cm x 127cm (35" x 50") equivalent to 35 gallons or .259 cubic yards.

A fee of $20 per cubic yard is charged for Leaf and Yard Waste (HST is included). An extra fee is applied for heaped and/or oversized loads. Please view our Tipping Fees page for complete information regarding fees. 

Leaf and Yard Waste is accepted year-round, at both Transfer Stations.

The County of Peterborough and The Township of North Kawartha may offer Free Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off at both the Anstruther and Haultain Transfer Stations. Free Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off typically begins Victoria Day Weekend and continues until funding expires (approximately) Thanksgiving Weekend. At that time, regular tipping fees will be in effect for Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off.
