COVID-19 Notice

The Township of North Kawartha is taking actions to help protect the health of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please visit our COVID-19 page to stay informed of closures/changes to Township servicesamenities, and programs

The Township of North Kawartha has suspended all programs and/or services at the North KawarthaWilson Park, and Glen Alda Community Centres until further notice. In compliance with Provincial Government orders to prohibit large, organized public events and social gatherings, Wilson Park, Glen Alda, and Lions playgrounds are closed.

Some North Kawartha Sports and Recreational Amenities are re-opening (with restrictions). Included are the Tennis/Pickleball courts (singles only) and baseball diamond at Wilson Park, in addition to the Picnic Shelter and Benches at Wilson Park and the Glen Alda Community Centre. Chandos and Quarry Bay beaches have also re-opened with restrictions.

Municipal water access points (boat launches) are open, as they do not have high traffic volumes, or what would be considered “high touch” surface areas. A reminder that physical distancing still applies in open recreational locations.

In compliance with Provincial Government orders, to ensure public safety, provincial parks have re-opened and are gradually expanding allowable activities and available amenities. To see the latest updates on Ontario Parks and COVID-19, click here.

Natural and tended spaces are plentiful in North Kawartha and the surrounding area. There are two Provincial Parks within North Kawartha Township, in addition to numerous other attractions and natural wonders. Scroll through the drop-downs below, to see locations which variously offer everything from baseball diamonds and boat launches, to playgrounds, picnic areas, beach volleyball, basketball, tennis/pickleball courts, and more!
