Parks and Recreation
North Kawartha boasts 3 community centres (each with various groups and activities), an arena, fitness centre, parks, 2 beach fronts, baseball diamonds, playground areas, picnic areas, and beach volleyball, basketball and tennis/pickleball courts.
We are very active in cultural and recreational programming. This includes running or providing various North Kawartha youth sports programs, figure skating lessons, an adult hockey league, public skating, fitness programs, as well as softball, soccer, lacrosse, and the swim program at Chandos Beach, Quarry Bay Beach, and Jack Lake.
Additionally, we are responsible for many special activities that include various types of performances, celebrations and festivities, and we work closely with our community groups to ensure the success of their events.
We have a very modest staff complement of 5 full-time, 3 part-time, and 5 seasonal students to accomplish the above.
