June 3, 2020, Notice of Construction; County of Peterborough for the Resurfacing of County Road 504

Please be advised that the resurfacing of County Road 504 within the Township of North Kawartha, from 700 m east of County Road No. 52 easterly to McCoy Road, approximately 5.00 km, will commence the week of June 29th, 2020 with a duration of approximately four (4) weeks.

County Road 504 will remain open with temporary day time flagging operations. Please note that the above construction dates may fluctuate due to weather constraints and other factors. Every effort will be made by the County to keep the Township of North Kawartha and residents informed of any significant changes.

Please be advised that the resurfacing of County Road 44 within the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen, from County Road No. 6 easterly for approximately 3.20 km will commence the week of June 22nd, 2020 with a duration of approximately four (4) weeks.
County Road 44 will remain open with temporary day time flagging operations. Please note that the above construction dates may fluctuate due to weather constraints and other factors. Every effort will be made by the County to keep the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen and residents informed of any significant changes.

The following roads are closed due to spring washouts:
  • Tallan Lake Road M1 portion
May 7, 2020 Notice of Construction; County of Peterborough for the Cross Culvert Replacements

Please be advised of the cross culvert replacements within the Township of Trent Lakes, the Township of North Kawartha and the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen. The locations of culvert replacements are outlined below:

  • Culvert #1: on CR 504, in the Township of North Kawartha approximately 115 meters west of civic address no. 694. Remove and Replace one (1) existing 900mm diameter X 18m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #2: on CR 504, in the Township of North Kawartha approximately 28 meters east of civic address no. 1046. Remove and Replace one (1) existing 800mm diameter X 18m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #3: on CR 504, in the Township of North Kawartha approximately 311 meters east of civic address no. 1185. Remove and Replace one (1) existing 800mm diameter X 18m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #4: on CR 504, in the Township of North Kawartha approximately 138 meters east of civic address no. 1294.  Remove and Replace one (1) existing 900mm diameter X 18m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #7: on CR 507, in the Township of Trent Lakes approximately 182 meters north of Salmon Lake Road.   Remove and Replace one (1) existing 800mm diameter X 28m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #10: on CR 507, in the Township of Trent Lakes approximately 1000 meters north of Salmon Lake Road.  Remove and Replace one (1) existing 800mm diameter X 20m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #3: County Road No. (CR) 23, in the Township of Trent Lakes approximately 50 meters east of CR 37.  Remove and Replace one (1) existing 800mm diameter X 26m CSP culvert.
  • Culvert #4: on CR 46, in the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen approximately 252 meters south of civic address no. 5318 CR 46. Remove and Replace one (1) existing 900mm diameter X 20m CSP culvert.

Construction will commence the week of May 11, 2020 with a duration of approximately four (4) weeks. This construction will include removal and replacement of cross culvert, restoration of cross fall, and hot mix asphalt paving patch.
County Road 23, 507, 504 and 46 will remain open throughout the duration of the culvert replacement with temporary day time flagging operations. Please note that the above construction dates may fluctuate due to weather constraints and other factors. Every effort will be made by the County to keep the Township of Trent Lakes, the Township of North Kawartha and the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen and residents informed of any significant changes.

April 30, 2020 Notice of Construction: County of Peterborough for the Rehabilitation of County Road 504

Please be advised that the rehabilitation of County Road 504, within the Township of North Kawartha from County Road 52 (locally known as Jack Lake Road) easterly approximately 0.7 km will commence the week of May 4th, 2020 with a duration of approximately three (3) weeks. This rehabilitation will include pulverization, restoration of cross fall and hot mix asphalt paving.
County Road 504 will remain open throughout the duration of the rehabilitation with temporary day time flagging operations. Please note that the above construction dates may fluctuate due to weather constraints and other factors. Every effort will be made by the County to keep the Township of North Kawartha and residents informed of any significant changes.

August 27, 2019 Road Closure Update

The County has closed the Crowe River Bridge for repairs near Glen Alda - a detour via Glen Alda Road @ 50 km/hr is in effect (see update below)

Notice of Construction; County of Peterborough for the Replacement of the Crowe River Bridge

Please be advised that County Road (CR) 504, from CR 620 to Glen Alda Road, will be closed to all through traffic.   Access for local traffic only will be maintained.

The Crowe River Bridge within the Township of North Kawartha is located on CR 504 approximately 2.0 km south of CR 620 (Glen Alda) and approximately 0.2 km north of Glen Alda Road.

An alternative detour route during this road closure will be signed in the field as shown in the Key Map (found below).
Please note that the construction dates may fluctuate due to weather constraints and other factors. Every effort will be made by the County to keep agencies, the Township of North Kawartha and residents informed of any significant changes.
Work on weekends may be undertaken to accommodate completion of the project within the established construction schedule.
