The Township of North Kawartha is responsible for the two Township Transfer Stations (at Anstruther and Haultain). They are not “dump” sites, they are “transfer” sites, where items are collected in large bins, and the bins are then transferred elsewhere for processing.

The Township also administers “curbside collection”. Curbside Garbage and Recycling Collection is contracted to a company called Waste Connections, while Recycling Collection is contracted (through the County of Peterborough) to a company called Emterra.
