Introducing Emily Fitzgerald: North Kawartha’s New Junior Planner

North Kawartha is excited to welcome Emily Fitzgerald as the new Junior Planner for the Township. Emily will work with residents to determine if they require planning relief, process planning applications, and provide input on many aspects of planning within the Township.

Emily is a proud graduate of the University of Waterloo, where she earned a Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Honours Co-operative Planning. Reporting to the Manager of Planning, she will be responsible for processing and providing staff recommendations on all planning and development applications, as well as addressing short-term and long-term planning and any other matters related to the comprehensive and orderly land-use development of North Kawartha Township.

Emily brings valuable experience to this position, having worked as a Junior Planner during her co-op placements through consulting work in Peterborough and the Kawarthas. This experience has given her a strong foundation in the principles of land use planning and the ability to produce sound planning opinions and rationale. She has evaluated applications for pre-consultation and processed various planning applications, including Minor Variances, Zoning By-law Amendments, and Consents to Sever.

Please join us in welcoming Emily to the North Kawartha team!
