The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday and will re-open on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 9:00 am with normal business hours.

Parks & Recreation 

The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday.

Garbage & Recycling 

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will be open on Monday, October 14, 2024, with Sunday winter schedule hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  

Curbside Garbage and Recycling collection will operate as normal on October 14, 2024, for Thanksgiving Monday. Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 am.

For missed curbside recycling collection, please call Emterra at 1-888-597-1541

Peterborough County Announces County Road 54 (Balmer Road) Rehabilitation Project

July 26, 2024

On Friday, July 26, 2024, the County of Peterborough announced that construction work is now underway on County Road 54, also known as Balmer Road, in the village of Apsley. The County Road 54 rehabilitation project will include minor rock removal for increased sightlines, full depth reclamation of existing surface, fresh granular A Road Base, and double surface treatment. 

Daily lane restrictions are expected to facilitate the road construction. The estimated completion date for the construction project is August 30, 2024. 

This Peterborough County project was made possible with help from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF). The CCBF helps to fund community-based projects, ones that will help to keep our road safe and accessible for all!
