Referring Matters to Staff

At certain times Council may not make a decision at a meeting and may refer a matter to senior staff. When Council refers an item to staff, it means that they are looking for additional information from those that have some expertise in an area before they make a decision. Items referred to staff will come back to Council or Committee through a staff report. Council may direct staff to complete a report on an item presented to Council.
