Curbside Garbage Collection Update for Chandos Lake Area Private Roads
July 14, 2026
Residents on private roads in the Chandos Lake area are advised that Waste Connections of Canada will be returning on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to collect any garbage that was missed during the regular curbside collection on Monday, July 13, 2026.
If you are on a Private Road in the Chandos Lake area, and your garbage was not collected, please place any missed garbage at the curbside 7am on Wednesday July 15, 2026
Regular curbside garbage collection for this area will resume on Monday, July 20, 2026.

The Township of North Kawartha is undertaking the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections using Internet/Telephone Voting. Voting Day is Monday, October 26, 2026. Check to see if you are on the voters list: RegisterToVoteON.ca
The Township maintains two municipal beaches, Chandos Beach and Quarry Bay Beach.
Both Chandos and Quarry Bay Beach boast Mobi-Mats. Mobi-Mat® is a portable and removable rollout beach access mat for pedestrians, wheelchair users, strollers and bicycles. The Mobi-Mat® walkways provide a firm, safe, cool and stable surface for a wide range of users, including people with disabilities or mobility challenges, the elderly, those using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or strollers and other groups with special access needs.

Please note: Tobacco Enforcement Officers (TEOs) regularly patrol parks, playgrounds, beaches and festivals to ensure compliance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act (SFOA). Under the SFOA, beaches and other outdoor spaces are designated smoke, vape and cannabis-free, and violating the law could lead to a $305 fine. Any person who sees people smoking, vaping, or using cannabis at beaches and within park boundaries may report a violation by calling the Lakelands Public Health 1-844-575-4567.
