Road Reduced Load Restrictions lifted on May 1, 2025

Effective Thursday, May 1, 2025, reduced load restrictions will be lifted for all Township of North Kawartha roads.

The County of Peterborough lifted their reduced load restrictions on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, for all County roads.

Public Notice: Reduced Load Restrictions in Effect Starting March 10, 2025

Starting March 10, 2025, reduced load restrictions will be in effect for all Township of North Kawartha roads.

Reduced load restrictions are applied each spring during the thaw when the road network is most vulnerable to help prevent permanent damages to pavement and surface treated roads.

While in the reduced load restrictions are in place, vehicles are restricted to load limits of 5 tonnes per axle.

Public Notice: County Road 54 / Balmer Road Surface Treatment

May 05, 2025

Please be advised that Peterborough County will be continuing their surface treatment project on County Road 54, also known as Balmer Road. Work is scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 6, 2025, to Friday, May 30, 2025.

Traffic will encounter single lane restrictions due to flagging operations. Please drive safely, reduce your speed in the construction zone, and watch out for Peterborough County crew and equipment.
