Total Fire and Firework Ban in effect!

Total Fire and Firework Ban is in effect for the Township of North Kawartha as of Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and will remain in effect until further notice. 

All forms of open-air burning are strictly prohibited (not allowed) during a total fire and firework ban:

Campfires, of all sizes
Brush burning, of all means
Cooking Fires, of all means
Wood cooking equipment
Charcoal Barbecues
Charcoal or wood smokers.

Propane or naphtha Gas cooking equipment with shutoff mechanisms and electric cooking equipment are permitted/allowed during a total fire and firework ban within the Township of North Kawartha.

All active burn permits are immediately suspended, and no new permits will be issued until the total fire and firework ban has been formally lifted.

Service Disruption Notice: NKCC Water Bottle Filling Station

August 06, 2025

Please be advised that due to current facility operations, the outside water bottle filling station at the North Kawartha Community Centre (NKCC), located at 340 McFadden Road, Apsley, is closed until further notice. 

Water is available at the Glen Alda Community Centre, located at 3723 County Road 620, Glen Alda, or for purchase at Sayers Foods, located at 132 Burleigh Street, Apsley.

For questions or concerns relating to this service disruption, please contact the Director of Parks and Recreation at 705-656-3619.
