  • Public Notice - July 1, 2025, Canada Day

    The Municipal office will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, for Canada Day and will re-open on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 9:00 am with normal business hours. 

    The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open with weekend hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

     

  • Public Notice of Temporary Road Closure on July 1, 2025 for Canada Day Parade

    Road Closure Date: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
    Closure Duration: 4:00 p.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m., or for the duration of the parade 
    Closure Location: Burleigh Street at County Road 620 to McFadden Road (after the Lions Park entrance)

  • Notice of Road Construction

    Starting Monday, June 23, 2025, the Township of North Kawartha’s Public Works Department will begin construction on Fire Route 10, Haultain Road, and Big Cedar Lake Road in preparation for surface treatment application.

  • Proposed Wireless Communications Site

    Spectra Point Inc., agents of Rogers Communications Inc., are proposing to install a 90-metre guyed wireless communications tower at 1480 County Road 504, Apsley. The proposed tower will improve 4G and 5G wireless services and enhance emergency communications for police, fire, and EMS in the area. As part of the public consultation process through Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), nearby property owners have been notified by mail or courier.

    A virtual public information session will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with registration required by July 4, 2025. Members of the public are also invited to submit comments on the proposal by July 11, 2025. 

  • Public Notice: Gravel Road Resurfacing on Lasswade Road

    Starting Tuesday, May 27, 2025, gravel road resurfacing will begin on Lasswade Road.

    Minor traffic delays near the maintenance work can be anticipated. Please drive with caution when approaching Township staff or equipment.

  • Public Notice Potential Canada Post Mail Delivery Disruption

    The Township of North Kawartha would like to advise residents of a potential disruption to regular mail delivery beginning as early as May 22, 2025, due to ongoing Canada Post labour negotiations.

    If a postal service disruption occurs, residents may experience delays in receiving taxation bills, planning notices, and other related correspondence by mail. To stay informed, residents are encouraged to subscribe to the Township website to receive updates directly by e-mail.

  • Provincial Day of Action on Litter: Tuesday, May 13, 2025

    On May 13, 2025, the Township of North Kawartha is proud to support the Provincial Day of Action on Litter by encouraging the clean-up of public spaces across our community, including parks, roadsides, and other public areas.

    For more information, or to arrange the pick-up of free garbage bags and schedule litter collection, please contact our Parks and Recreation and Waste Department at 705-656-2438 or 705-656-4445 ext. 251.

    The Anstruther and Haultain Transfer Stations are accepting brush (no stumps) from the storm.  Debris is accepted free of charge and debris over 6” in diameter needs to be separated.
