Temporary Road Closures for Canada Day Parade
Please be advised that temporary road closures will be in effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from approximately 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., or for the duration of the Apsley and District Lions Club Canada Day Parade.
The parade will begin at Apsley Central Public School and travel through downtown Apsley before concluding at the North Kawartha Community Centre (340 McFadden Road).
Temporary road closures will be in effect along portions of the following roads to accommodate the parade route:
- Burleigh Street at County Road 620
- River Street
- Burleigh Street at Wellington Street
- Tucker Street
- County Road 504 at Jack Lake Road (County Road 52)
- Jack Lake Road (County Road 52) and McFadden Road
- Jack Lake Road (County Road 52) to the North Kawartha Community Centre
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, expect minor delays, and follow all posted signage and directions from event organizers and traffic control personnel.
Following the parade, festivities will take place at the North Kawartha Community Centre until approximately 6:00 p.m., featuring games, activities, and the Lions' popular food booth. Residents and visitors are also invited to enjoy the Canada Day fireworks display at dusk within the Apsley Lions Park.
This is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate Canada Day as a community.
