Canada Day
Fireworks By-law Reminder
As Canada Day approaches, the Township of North Kawartha Emergency Services Department would like to remind residents and visitors that the setting off of fireworks is regulated under By-law 2021-0118.
Fireworks are permitted for Canada Day between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on the weekend prior to Canada Day, on July 1, and on the weekend immediately following. Fireworks are not permitted outside of these dates and times.
Residents are reminded that fireworks must be used responsibly and shall not be set off in, on, or onto any building, highway, sidewalk, or municipal property, including parks, unless written approval has first been obtained from Council.
Any damage or injury resulting from the use of fireworks is the responsibility of the person setting them off.
Please celebrate safely and be considerate of your neighbours, pets, and wildlife.
