Road Reopening Notice – Mill Lake Road and Haultain Road

The Township of North Kawartha advises that Mill Lake Road and Haultain Road are now open following receding water levels.

Some low-lying areas of Haultain Road remain flooded. Motorists are advised to follow posted signage and proceed with caution when travelling through affected sections.

Public Works staff will continue to monitor road conditions.

Flood Warning - April 14, 2026

Heavy rainfall and continued snowmelt may cause flooding.

If flooding poses a threat to person or property call 9-1-1.

Report an issue to the Township if flood waters are in close proximity your structures.

Sand and sandbags are available to the public just inside the sand dome located at the Township of North Kawartha Roads Garage at 10230 Highway 28, Apsley. Bring a shovel.

Please monitor the local weather and flood forecasts.

Planned Hydro One Power Outage Notice – April 23, 2026

The Hydro One has advised of a planned power outage affecting the Apsley area within the Township of North Kawartha to allow for essential pole replacement work.

  • Date: Thursday, April 23, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Approximately 804 customers will be affected

This planned outage is required for crew safety while completing maintenance work.

Residents can view affected areas and updates using the Hydro One outage map. Please select “future planned outages” in the legend: https://www.hydroone.com/power-outages-and-safety/outage-map 

Residents are encouraged to prepare in advance and ensure devices are charged, appliances are turned off, and essential items are accessible.
