Canada Day - July 1, 2026

The Municipal office will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for Canada Day and will re-open on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. with normal business hours. 

Parks & Recreation 

The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open with weekend hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Garbage & Recycling 

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will be open on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with regular operating hours per the summer schedule. 

Curbside Garbage collection on Thursday, July 2, 2026, will be moved to Friday, July 3, 2026. Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. 

Curbside Recycling collection will operate as normal, with no scheduled changes.. Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 am. 

For missed curbside garbage collection, please call Waste Connections at 705-742-4268 and for missed curbside recycling collection, please call Emterra at 1-888-597-1541.

Firework & Fire Restrictions Reminder

Fireworks are only permitted in the Township of North Kawartha from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as well as the weekend prior to and the weekend following the holiday.

Residents are also reminded that daytime burning is not permitted. Open-air burning, including campfires, is only allowed between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. with a valid burn permit.
