Public Notice: Potential Canada Post Mail Delivery Disruption

The Township of North Kawartha would like to advise residents of a potential disruption to regular mail delivery beginning as early as May 22, 2025, due to ongoing Canada Post labour negotiations.

If a postal service disruption occurs, residents may experience delays in receiving taxation bills, planning notices, and other related correspondence by mail. To stay informed, residents are encouraged to subscribe to the Township website to receive updates directly by e-mail.

How to Stay Informed and Avoid Mail Delivery Interruptions

Taxation Bills and Notices:
To help avoid mail delivery interruptions, residents are encouraged to sign up for e-mail consent to have taxation bills and related notices delivered directly by e-mail. This is a quick and convenient way to stay connected and ensure important information reaches you without delay.

The e-mail consent form is available at the Municipal Office or can be downloaded from the Township website at: www.northkawartha.ca/media/0tobsqm3/email-consent-form.pdf

The onus is on the property owner to know the status of their property taxes. The Township encourages property owners to be aware of taxation due dates and the numerous easy payment options found on the Township Taxation webpage or by contact the Finance Department at finance@northkawartha.ca or 705-656-4445 ext. 905.

Planning Notices:
Planning notices are typically sent by regular mail to neighbouring properties for matters such as:

    • Zoning Amendments
    • Minor Variances
    • Municipal Shoreline Road Allowances
    • Municipal Road Allowances

In the event of a Canada Post disruption, these notices will be made available on the Township’s Current Planning Applications webpage or by contacting the North Kawartha Planning Department at planning@northkawartha.ca or 705-656-5188.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe to Planning Notices on the Township website to receive updates directly by e-mail and stay informed with the latest information.
