Reduced Load Restrictions Effective Monday, March 9, 2026
The Township of North Kawartha will implement Reduced Load Restrictions on all Township roads beginning Monday, March 9, 2026.
These seasonal restrictions are applied each spring during the thaw to help prevent permanent damage to roads. Vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle during this period.
The County of Peterborough has already implemented reduced load restrictions on its county roads, effective Monday, March 2, 2026. The following County Roads within North Kawartha are affected:
- County Road 504
- County Road 620
- County Road 54 (Balmer Road)
- County Road 52 (Jack Lake Road)
Road users are encouraged to plan ahead and adjust routes as needed.
