Public Notice: Total Fire and Firework Ban Lifted - Restrictions in Place

The Township of North Kawartha is advising residents and visitors that the Total Fire and Firework Ban issued on August 5, 2025, has been lifted as of Friday, August 29, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. 

While the total ban is no longer in effect, burning restrictions remain in place.

  • Daytime burning is not permitted, and burning is allowed only between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. with a valid burn permit.
  • Fireworks may also be used between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Holidays and their preceding weekends.
  • Flying lanterns are strictly prohibited in North Kawartha at all times. 

Residents and visitors are asked to exercise extreme caution and follow all fire safety rules, remaining mindful of the potential risks during this period of heightened fire activity.
