Public Notice: Good Friday and Easter Monday Hours of Operation

April 3, 2026, and April 6, 2026

The Municipal Office will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, for Good Friday and on Monday, April 6, 2026, for Easter Monday. The office will reopen on Tuesday, April 7, 2026  at 9:00 a.m

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will operate on regular winter hours on Friday, April 3, 2026. Both Transfer Stations will be open on Monday, April 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Curbside garbage and recycling collection will run as normal on Monday, April 6, 2026. Please place materials at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

For missed garbage collection, call Waste Connections at 705‑742‑4268. For missed recycling collection, call Emterra at 1‑888‑597‑1541.

Register to Vote for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections

You can use Elections Ontario’s Voter Registration service online tool that allows eligible Ontario electors to confirm, update, add or remove their voter information for Ontario provincial and local elections, including elections for municipal Council Members and School Board Trustees. 

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) remains responsible for collecting information about school support. To update your school support information, visit MPAC’s online School Support tool.

Road Closure Due to Culvert Failure on Julian Lake Road

Julian Lake Road is currently closed due to a culvert failure. The closure has been implemented to ensure public safety while repair work is carried out.

Township of North Kawartha Public Works staff are on site and actively working in the area to replace the damaged culvert. The road will remain closed for the duration of the repairs.

The anticipated time for traffic restoration is 3:00 p.m. today, pending weather conditions and successful completion of the work.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, follow all posted signage, and use alternate routes where possible.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as crews complete the necessary repairs. Updates will be provided should there be any changes to the anticipated reopening time.
