Construction and Demolition Material
The Anstruther Transfer Station accepts residential construction and demolition (C & D) material from Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving Weekend.
C & D is subject to a fee of $8 per garbage bag measuring 89cm x 127cm (35" x 50") equivalent to 35 gallons or .259 cubic yards.
A fee of $30 per cubic yard is charged for C & D (HST is included). An extra fee is applied for heaped and/or oversized loads. Please view our Tipping Fees page for complete information regarding fees.
Commercial, construction and demolition material must be transported to the Bensfort Road, Waste Management Facility, which serves the 8 municipalities within Peterborough County.
Acceptable Material:
- Basic construction, demolition and renovation debris
- All wood products
- Plaster and drywall
- Bricks, concrete, concrete with rebar
- Household fixtures (i.e. toilets, sinks, tubs, cupboards)
Please note:
Anything metal goes in the Scrap Metal Bin (Free)
Household electronics go in the Electronics Bin (Free)
Non-acceptable Material:
- Wet waste
- Household garbage
- Household items (i.e. couches, mattresses, etc.)
- Styrofoam of any kind
- Carpet
- Vinyl siding
- Plastic chairs**
- Any type of plastic pipe**
Please note:
**Plastic pipe and plastic chairs are strictly garbage, and if going in garbage, must be cut into 2-foot lengths (representative of garbage bag size).
