Public Notice - Civic Holiday

Monday, August 3, 2026

The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026, for the Civic Holiday and will re-open on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 9:00 am with normal business hours.

Parks & Recreation 

The North Kawartha Community and Fitness Centre will be open with weekend hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Garbage & Recycling 

The Haultain and Anstruther Transfer Stations will be open on Monday, August 3, 2026, with Sunday hours of 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., per the summer schedule.

Curbside Garbage and Recycling collection on Monday, August 3, 2026, will operate as normal, with no scheduled changes. Please have your material out at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. 

For missed curbside garbage collection, please call Waste Connections at 705-742-4268 and for missed curbside recycling collection, please call Emterra at 1-888-597-1541.

Candidate Nomination Period Now Open

Nominations are open until Friday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m.

Interested candidates are encouraged to review the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election Information for Candidates for the Township of North Kawartha.

Candidate Nomination Packages are available at the Municipal Office.

We encourage you to visit our Candidate Events and Training webpage for resources to help you learn what municipal councils do and information regarding training workshops. Our nomination package includes filing information, important guides, policies, and by-laws.

The last day to file a nomination is Friday, August 21, at 2 p.m. If you are interested in running for office. To make an appointment to file your nomination papers, call 705-656-5187 or email the Clerk, Kelly Picken to schedule an appointment.
